Sound Sleeper

For those of you who know Dave, you all know that he doesn't do well without sleep and that he is a sound sleeper. I was reminded of that the last couple of nights. He doesn't even hear his own daughter wake up crying. When we brought her home from the hospital we put the baby monitor on his side of the bed and also turn the volume on high. He managed to hear her for the first little while since I couldn't get out of bed to quickly(c-section). Well now that I'm able to move a little better it seems like he's tuned us out. I get no help from him at night. I even call out for him and he still doesn't wake up. The funny thing about this situation is that he sleeps all night gets up and at this very moment he is on the recliner with Alex snoring away. Who gave him permission to take a nap. I was up every 21/2 hours for 2 hrs with Alex. I think I need the nap. He does let me sleep. He'll take Alex downstairs, but I'm still up to feed her. How to resolve this problem? Oh ya NO MORE KIDS:)

My other problem is that when we had company Dave moved Rudy into our bedroom. Here I have this big ass kennel on my side of the bed that makes it hard for me to get in and out of bed. I also have Dave snoring on one side of me then I have the dog on the other. I still haven't decided who snores louder, as of last night they are pretty much even. Rudy does bark and run in his sleep.(he's in his kennel). I think I will send both boys to sleep in the other room. Sorry honey, I love you but I need sleep when I can get it. Well I'm off to shower.

Movies

I never thought I would be one of those moms that would be jealous if her husband got to do things she couldn't. Well I discovered tonight that I am. Dave is away on a training course and as I'm writing this he is sitting in a movie theater having fun, forgetting about us( Alex and me). I'm about to give her a bath and feed her and put her to bed and hoping that she sleeps for 3 hours. I would love to see a movie. When is it my turn. I knew that having a kid would change my life. I'm looking forward to my day when Dave is home alone with our princess. I hope you are having fun and can't wait till your home. We both miss you

7 days old

It's been a wonderful experience and can't wait to see what the future holds for us. I've been really tired since my iron is really low and trying to recover from the c-section as well. I still have a lot of pain and trouble getting around the house. Dave has been a great help. He 's getting up with Alex and I since it takes me forever to get out of bed. My mom is a great help also except that she is spoiling Alex. Holding her all the time. We are having problems putting Alex to bed at night. She will only sleep in someone's arms. The last 2 nights it took us until 2 or 3 am to get her to sleep in her crib. Last night I fed her for what feels like 2hrs straight. We are also giving her a little formula. That doesn't seem to help. I'm hurting from her feeding lots. Tomorrow I'm going to a breastfeading clinic to see if they can help. Well that's all for now.

The Big Day

Dave said that the last 9 months went by fast. At first I didn't think so, maybe because I was able to feel her. I do agree somewhat that the last 2 weeks flew by. Tomorrow is October 4th and it will be her birthdate. I look forward in meeting the little girl that's been kicking, turning and growing inside of me. I can't wait to hold her. We are so excited to finally see her. I've been wondering who she will look like. The only certain thing I know is that if she looks anything like me she will also look like her auntie Sheri. Our mom's are here. They got here around 2pm. They are so excited. I think they are more excited than we are the soon-to=be-parents. Today I finished the house work. My mom help with the vacuuming. The next few days should be interesting. We will keep everyone posted. we have people phoning people for us. Well that's all I'm off to just hang out. Talk to everybody in a few days
